A stage transition that materially changes Γ is plausibly capable of changing outward appearance because outward phenotype variables are inside Γ’s governed domain. CI2. Deep microscopic changes can contribute causally to later gross anatomy, so high-stage visible traits may have recursively deep invisible prerequisites. CI4.
