It uses the structure of the model to infer a likely generative consequence without having a complete law that forces that exact consequence. For example: • higher stages contain more recursively structured developmental relations; • more interacting developmental relations create more possible interaction terms; • therefore higher stages plausibly support a larger space of emergent anatomical and physiological properties. That is a strong causal inference inside HGL, but not a theorem that tells us which exact property appears. 33. Four labels used throughout this document To prevent overclaiming, conclusions are classified as: D — Deduction: forced by definitions/axioms and classical logic. HI — HGL inference: strongly supported by the intended formal architecture but not a bare classical theorem. CD — Causal deduction: forced only after an explicit causal mapping law is added. CI — Causal inference: plausible or structurally motivated causal interpretation, but not uniquely forced. Part IX — Antithetically productive zig-zag logic after the IH revision 34. Why the zig-zag is not merely negative A bare negation ¬SMn is only a proposition saying that SMn does not obtain. By itself, it is not a new positive developmental mode. The higher hierarchy becomes productive because this structured non-state is placed under inheritance: IH¬SMn. The result is a positive part of SFn+1. Symmetrically, IH¬SFn is a positive part of SMn+1. Thus HGL’s productive zig-zag can be summarized as opposite-side whole → non-state → inherited non-state structure → higher same-side stage.
