Imagine every Brain-lobe is a specialist department. Ordinary crossfunctionality is what happens when two or more departments combine their jobs to produce a job that none of them produces alone. A language department and a music department can cooperate to produce a singing-related function. That is ordinary crossfunctionality.

Now add Higher Hyperfunctional lobes. A Higher Lobe is not merely the same department with a bigger ordinary skill meter. Its basic Function, Adeptness, Usefulness, and Reliability can already be fully saturated, while higher Hyperfunction orders add new typed dimensions and new emergent function-like, skill-like, usefulness-like, reliability-like, or mixed properties. Think of the department gaining completely new kinds of instruments rather than turning the same volume knob above 100%.

Hyperemergent Crossfunctionality happens when departments cooperate and one or more of those new higher-order instruments actually matter to what the team produces. If an H100 strategy department joins a team but the team only uses the same ordinary strategy ability that H1 already had, the teamwork is not Hyperemergent. The H100 department is present, but its H100-specific emergent equipment is not doing anything causally special in that task.

If instead the team uses a strategy property that exists only because the strategy department reached a higher Hyperfunction order, and that property combines with another department to create a result ordinary departments could not create, that is Hyperemergent Crossfunctionality. The "hyper" part is not decorative: the crossfunction is drawing on functionality that emerged from the higher Hyperfunction architecture.

A regular lobe can still be part of it. Picture an ordinary emotional-reading department feeding information into an H200 strategy department. The emotional department may be completely ordinary. If an H200-only strategy dimension combines with the emotional information to create a new planning capability, the whole team output is Hyperemergent. Only one participant has to supply the indispensable higher-order emergent ingredient.

Two departments can even have the same job. Imagine an H5 strategy department and an H100 strategy department. Both are strategy departments, but they do not have identical internal dimensional structure. Their cooperation can create a strategy property that neither one produces alone. That is same-function, or Homohypercrossfunctional, Hyperemergence.

Departments with similar jobs can do it too. An H100 strategy department and H80 tactics department may be like one team member specializing in the architecture of the whole campaign while another specializes in immediate action-selection. Their higher-order properties can interlock into a planning-and-execution capability that is more than merely passing messages back and forth. That is Parahypercrossfunctionality.

Very different departments can also do it. An H300 creativity department, H500 temporal-perception department, and H90 deception-resistance department might combine higher-order properties to invent possibilities, organize them across time, and remove adversarially contaminated possibilities in one integrated computation. That is Heterohypercrossfunctionality.

The output does not have to become a totally new named mental power. Sometimes the output is still recognizably strategy, singing, prediction, resistance, or another existing function, but it has gained a new network-level property. Sometimes it becomes a stable hybrid. Sometimes it really is a new function-kind. Only in the last case does the question of generating a dedicated new primary Brain-lobe necessarily arise.

There is also a second layer of emergence. First, a Higher Lobe internally generates its own higher-order emergent dimensions. Then several lobes combine those dimensions and generate a new network property. That is why Hyperemergent Crossfunctionality is an emergence-of-emergence architecture: new things generated inside lobes become ingredients from which the network generates still newer things.

The process can repeat. Team A can produce a Hyperemergent output. Team B can take Team A's output and combine it with another lobe. Team C can take Team B's result and combine it again. The number of these crossfunction-of-crossfunction stages is Hyperemergent recursion depth c. It is not the same as Hyperfunction order h. An H1000 lobe can participate in a c=1 crossfunction, while a sequence of relatively low-order lobes could in principle produce c=20 recursive network composition.

This is also why the brain needs selectivity. If millions or maximumlessly many available departments and emergent properties tried to combine in every possible way at once, the possibility-space would explode. Arthitean routing, inhibition, metaneural control, Crossfunctional Integration, Crossfunctional Efficiency, and Factor 22 let the brain form a sparse useful team for the current problem instead of blindly activating every possible team.

An easy diagnostic analogy is a championship team. Every player can perform perfectly alone and the team can still lose because the passing system, role assignment, timing, coordination, or tactical integration fails. Likewise, every lobe can succeed individually while Hyperemergent Crossfunctionality fails. The correct fix is then not necessarily "make each lobe stronger"; the brain may need better interlobe wiring, selection, routing, inhibition, integration, metaneural control, or crossfunctional prowess.

Antilobes can join the team too. They contribute information about what did not fire. A Higher Lobe can combine its higher-order emergent cognition with that absence-information. The brain can therefore produce Hyperemergent functions that depend jointly on what occurred and what informatively failed to occur, which creates a direct bridge to nullpattern and crosspattern processing.

Shortest possible layman statement: ordinary crossfunctionality is "lobes combine their functions." Hyperemergent Crossfunctionality is "lobes combine functions in a way that actually uses the new emergent dimensions created by higher Hyperfunction levels, and that combination can itself generate still-new network functionality." Recursive Hyperemergent Crossfunctionality is "those new network functions become ingredients for further crossfunctions, repeatedly."
